St. Charles home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in St. Charles rose by $15,000 while total sales decreased by 11.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 1,181 homes sold, with a median sale price of $170,000 - a 9.7% increase over the $155,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 1,331 homes sold in St. Charles in 2016.

The median sales tax in St. Charles for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $2,157, approximately 1.3% of the median home sale price for 2017.
